A beautiful, responsive website for a boutique wine and dine vineyard in the South of France, with a bespoke e-commerce platform to sell their wines online.

The challenge

O’Vineyards is a successful boutique vineyard in the South of France. As well as crafting a range of highly respected wines, they offer B&B rooms and unique wine and dine experiences, where visitors can enjoy a vineyard tour, wine tasting and a delicious home cooked food whilst being looked after by the friendly, passionate and charismatic owners, Liz and Joe.

Their old website had an impressive number of blogs with unique content and did well on Google, but it was sometimes difficult to navigate and sat awkwardly alongside their new booking system. They wanted to improve the user experience by making it easier for people to book visits and rooms, to find a better way of selling their wine online, and to re-design the look-and-feel to do full justice to the O’Vineyards experience.

How we helped

We took photos and developed a bespoke website for o’vineyards.com. To make it easier to book, calls to action and sections on the home page direct people towards booking a wine and dine visit, booking the B&B and buying wines. To increase the chance of bookings, testimonial sliders and TripAdvisor reviews are included throughout the whole site to help prospects to trust the experience will live up to the promised offer.

The phrase ‘an image is worth a thousand words’ rings true for O’Vineyards. Full screen photos and image galleries capture the essence of the beautiful, peaceful, romantic vineyards. Photos of guests laughing, enjoying the fine wines and eating delicious food evoke tantalising smells and tastes. This does full justice to the O’Vineyards experience and helps increase the chance of bookings.

Naturally the entire site is responsive (mobile and tablet friendly), as the majority of O’Vineyards’ customers are travellers who will only ever access the site through a phone or tablet.

A key feature for the new website is the e-commerce that enables customers to buy wines. For O’Vineyards, we developed our own bespoke, lightweight e-commerce platform that does exactly what it needs to. Customers can buy cases of pre selected wine or make up their own case. A basket enables customers to add or remove wine and adjust quantities, and calculates shipping per 12 bottles (1 case) of wine. This is followed by a simple one page checkout where customers enter their contact details before making the payment via Stripe.
